Kathy Kiely, a journalist and journalism teacher in Washington D.C., currently works as the commissioning editor for BillMoyers.com. A journalist for nearly 40 years, she has worked for a number of regional and national publications covering politics and the U.S. Congress. She has covered every presidential campaign since 1980. Kathy, who obtained a master's degree in interactive journalism from American University in 2008, has also served as an editor at the Sunlight Foundation, where she worked with a team of reporters and developers to create data tools for journalists. She has served on the Congressional Standing Committee of Correspondents and is a member of the Gridiron Club, and is member of the boards of the National Press Club Journalism Institute and The Daily Princetonian, her college paper.
