Limited Capacity seats available

This workshop is for anyone looking to organize a killer creative, organically growing, attractive event - that also stewards the place it is hosted. Emma Weisman, of Burning Man, will tell the story of this major annual event hosted in the Black Rock Desert. She will share how the values and culture from the initial founding has shaped the way the event organizers and participants interact with the conserved land on which it is held. She will also discuss the processes for leaving no trace after thousands of people create and break down a artful city over the course of the event each summer. Ryan Owens of the Monadnock Conservancy will facilitate an interview and  Q & A with Emma to better understand the threats and opportunities of developing an event like this, and what values and practices might transcend the desert environment and apply to other types of conserved lands.
