Nancy Cain is the founder and co-owner of Against The Grain Gourmet, a wholesale commercial gluten free bakery whose frozen products and baking mixes are distributed in the US and Canada. Founded in Brattleboro in 2007, the company employees 100 people and is consistently ranked as one of the fastest growing companies in the state of Vermont. She holds a Ph.D. in Psychology and has been an academic, an investment banker, an author, and a real estate agent. Nancy founded Against The Grain with no background in the food industry, but with products (gluten free bread and pizza) that have proved that a small company can successfully compete with the biggest.
